I believe in Jackalopes

Just playing around with my new Lawn Fawn stamp and die sets.  How cute is this little jackalope?  I love jackalopes!  If you ever see a white one, get it for me because I have a place in my house just for him.  Anyway, I was inspired by this card and here is my card:

Ain't he cute?  My largest stitched circle was a little smaller than the one in the inspiration photo, so I added a Spellbinders frame to it to kind of extend it.  Anyhoo.

Supplies used:

Distress inks: Forest Moss, Shabby Shutters, Peeled Paint, Tumbled Glass and Peacock Feathers.
Memento Tuxedo Black ink
SSS Wisteria and Spring Rain inks
Lawn Fawn Dad + me and Believe in Yourself stamp and die sets
Spellbinders Picot Edge Circles die
SSS Stitched Circles die
Wink of Stella clear

Father's Day with Lawn Fawn

I saw this stamp and die set at Simon Says Stamp and just had to have it.  I needed scene builders, which this set has, and it also has great Dad sentiments and cute critters!  I was inspired by this blog post and here is my card:

I kind of wish that I'd remembered to put a setting sun in there.  Once I glued the mountains down though, it was too late.  I think I might get their stitched mountain border die.  I think all these scene builders will make for cute Christmas or any day cards.

Supplies used:

SSS Stitched Rectangles die
SSS Stitched Slopes and Hills dies
Lawn Fawn dad + me stamp and die set
Memento inks: Rich Cocoa. Tuxedo Black
Versamagic ink: Turquoise Gem, Gingerbread
SSS ink: Lucky
Versamark ink
White detail embossing powder
Copic markers

Hmm, time to go shopping at Simon Says Stamp lol.  Thanks for looking!

Spectrum Noir Sparkle pens

I've been eyeing these Spectrum Noir Sparkle pens for awhile, and when Archiver's offered a card kit with five pens and a stamp set, well, that pushed me off the fence.  And woo, these pens are SPARKLY and colorful.  I'd compare them somewhat to the Wink of Stella pens.  The SN pens are larger, so I assume they hold more stuff in them, but who knows?  Anyway, I made a card with the kit- don't laugh at my attempt to blend the pink colors, ok?

Here's my card:

Can you see the sparkle?

I cut out the banners with a die rather than the templates that were provided- I just didn't trust my ability to cut a straight line, haha.  And edging the fussy cut pieces with a black pen was key to success.

Anyhoo.  I think I'll be using these a lot on my Christmas cards.

Supplies used:  Spectrum Noir Sparkle Poppy Card kit
Banner dies
Memento Rose Bud ink
Archival ink- black
Memento Tuxedo Black marker

SOA Geobuilders and Enchanted Garden

It is pouring rain outside again.  A great day for stamping!

I CASEd a card from Catherine Pooler today, changing a few things up:

I went for a little softer look than she did, but much of the layout is the same.  I like the silver shimmer card for the bottom layer and the "You", too.

Supplies used:

SOA: Enchanted Garden stamp and dies, Geobuilders stamps, and All About You stamps, Two Yous' die.
SSS inks: Hollyhock and Stone
Silver glimmer cardstock
The Paper Studio heavyweight white cardstock
Copic markers

More SSS Goodies

I saw these cards and just had to have the Cuddly Critters stamps.  Isn't that panda the best?  So here is my copycat  card:

I'm not sure about ink blending on embossed card stock.  I think I might have preferred blending first then embossing later.   And I used my MISTI to double stamp the panda to ensure a great impression.  Anyhoo, there we go.

Supplies used:

SSS Cuddly Critters and Accessories stamps and dies
SSS 120 lb white card stock
SSS Painted Friend die
Distress inks: Squeezed Lemonade, Cracked Pistachio, Mermaid Lagoon
Memento Tuxedo black ink
We R Memory Keepers Wave embossing folder

Graduation card

So my nephew is graduating from Liberty University this weekend.  Good stuff!  Here's the card I made him:

It's a little plainish I know but I figured he wouldn't be as into flowery backgrounds.  And I really wanted the attention to be on the bird and his diploma.  A little stamping, a little masking, a little coloring, and bam! he's done.

Supplies used:
Tim Holtz Crazy Birds, Crazy words and Crazy Things stamp sets
Memento Tuxedo Black ink
Copic Markers

Color Layering Goldfish

So as I peruse cardmaking blogs and Pinterest posts, I end up shopping for the stamp sets so that I can re-create those cards.  I can't be the only one who does this.  Simon Says Stamp will be in business so long as Pinterest peeps like myself fall in love with other people's cards.

Today's inspiration is this card by Jennifer McGuire.  I ordered May's My Monthly Hero kit with the goldfish too, and I couldn't wait to recreate her card.  Here is my card:

I had to use a few different supplies, but I think it worked out ok.  What do you think?

Supplies used:

My Monthly Hero May 2016 kit: blue cardstock, gems
Hero Arts Color Layering Goldfish stamp set and dies
SSS inks: Scuba, Willow, and Catkin
Memento inks: Dandelion, Tangelo, Rich Cocoa
Hero Arts White Unicorn ink
White and clear embossing powders

SOA Mother's Day card

I was inspired by the previous card and thought I'd do a similar card for Mother's Day.  Her favorite color is pink, and she loves butterflies, so the SOA kit was a perfect fit!  Here's the card:

I am thinking I may need to add something to it, like blingy things on those black dots.  I'll think about it for a bit.

Supplies used:

SOA Beautiful World kit
Hero Arts Celebrate stamp set (sentiment)
Memento Tuxedo black ink
Distress inks: Spun Sugar, Milled Lavender, Victorian Velvet
SSS 120 white cardstock

Oh hey, look at the difference with a little bling- I like this better:
