Stamp and Scrapbook Expo Haul

So yesterday I went to the Stamp and Scrapbook Expo in Chantilly, VA.  Wowee did I have a great time.  I took a couple of classes and spent the rest of the time shopping!  Yay me!  I got a new stamp/ die set from Altenew called World, it seems to be a layering set but I haven't figured it out yet so I'll have to YouTube it.  I also got a LOT of Heartfelt Creations goodies, and I finally splurged on two small sets of Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers. You'll be seeing lots of goodness as I work my way through my new stuff!

So I decided to try the Zigs first.  I've been dying to try them, but I wasn't sure that I wanted to make a huge investment.  Well, here's my first card, which was inspired by this card by Kristina Werner.  Because, you know, I had to YouTube how to use these markers!!!

So.  I love how the purple and peach flowers turned out, not as happy with the pink one, but you know, for a very first go at a new tool, I think I did pretty good!

Supplies used:
Altenew Beautiful World stamp set
Versamark ink
White embossing powder
Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers: Pale Dawn Gray, Pink Flamingo, English Lavender, Peach Pink
SU! Wisteria Wonder card stock
Ranger Archival black ink

Piggy!

I love stamp sets with adorable critters, and Stampin' Up! has hit a home run with This Little Piggy!  I didn't have any piggies in my stash, so my very first order from the new catalog included this set.  I looked all over Pinterest for inspiration, and found this card.  I love the color combo and of course the piggy, and it's a relatively simple layout.  I switched a few things up, and this is what I came up with:

Ain't he cute?  The fussy cutting got a little hinky around the tail, but I made it work :)  The little flower is from Circle of Spring stamp set- I just needed a little detail in the background.

Baby Bunny card

So we have a baby shower this weekend.  I crocheted a baby blanket, hit Target for another gift, and now to make a card!  I have had this stamp set in my stash for a little while now, it's probably the first time I've used it.  So here's to firsts!

Here's the card:

I think I probably should have chosen warmer colors for the baby blocks, but I wanted them to stand out a little from the bunny.  I do like the way it turned out anyway.

I love the new In Colors from Stampin' Up!  This card is on Powder Pink card stock and DSP.

Have a great day, and thanks for looking!

A Last Minute Graduation Card

My niece is graduating high school and we are having her party tomorrow.  So, of course, I had to make a card tonight!  I started with the gold tassels from the Eastern Palace Premier Bundle and Cherry Cobbler card stock.  My idea was to have the tassel on the side, but then I couldn't find my gold embroidery thread to tie on the card with it.  So the tassel went away, but I added a black banner to kind of replace it.  Here's what I ended up with:

I kind of wish the vinyl stickers either also came in colors, or that the designs came in stamps.  But I like how this turned out.  I hope the graduate does!

Here are the supplies I used:

Happy Birthday Gorgeous

Wow, time really got away from me, didn't it.  I've been making a few cards, but had to make and give them in short order so I didn't get pictures of them.  Doh!  Even more reason to have a great stash of cards ready to go!

So here's a card I've made for mom's birthday (it's in July, so I'm ahead of the game!!).  I CASEd heavily from this card which I thought was just beautiful.  I changed up the sentiment and added some stamping on the inside:

So what do you think"  I especially love the color combination of Daffodil Delight, Peekaboo Peach, Flirty Flamingo, and Melon Mambo.  And who knew that SU! inks would blend so nicely?  I thought you had to have distress inks for that- myth busted!

So here are the supplies used:
