More of the MFT haul :)

This stamp set is MFT's Flopsy Flowers.  So cute!  I experimented with a new technique, too- out of the box with the Spellbinders die.

The cardstock and patterned paper are Recollections, I stamped Flopsy on Neenah Solar White cardstock and colored him in with my Spectrum Noir markers.  I also used Spellbinders Classic Ovals and Scalloped Ovals dies.

Thanks for looking!

What a difference a little color makes

I've been playing with my OWH MFT fundraiser haul.  One of the stamp sets is My Favorite Things' "Who's That Girl" Mermaid.  This set has so many possibilities, it's not even funny. You get eight sentiments, the big scene and six elements to add to the scene.  Here's the MFT website- it appears that the Mermaid set may be retired.

Anyway, I made two similar cards with it:

Both are made with Bazzill cardstock, the stamp set, and my Spectrum Noir markers.  I added Ranger Glossy Accents to the blue mermaid, too.

Isn't it cool how you can add to the scene?

Quick and easy cards

I knocked out a few quick and easy cards tonight.  The first is similar to one I did last week, just a different sentiment to make it a little more general so it will be easier for our Soldiers to use (OWH card). This one uses this month's Simon Says Stamp card kit stamp set and various Memento inks. Too easy!

The next is for a friend of mine who is recovering from surgery- love the look on the face of that little turtle! He is a digistamp from Bird's Cards.

The rest is me using up my Simon Says Stamp card making kit- I love the colors in the patterned papers this month!  The embellishments on these are American Crafts, found on sale at Target.

OWH MFT Haul

I participated in Operation Write Home's My Favorite Things fundraiser, and what a great haul I got!  Sentiments and Who's That Girl and Flopsy stamps, ribbons, and dies woo hoo!

My cards today combine some of the paper from the August Simon Says Stamp card kit and a couple of the MFT stamp sets.  I just couldn't help myself lol

The stamp set here is MFT's "I Spy".  The kraft card is Bazzill, the bling is recollections.  I stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with my Spectrum Noir markers.

This card uses MFT's Cupcake Flopsy stamp set and the tag is cut with Spellbinder's Back to Basics Tags.

I don't know which manufacturer this stamp set is from :(

Simon Says Stamp August 2013 Card Kit

Wooooo hoooo!  I got lots of stamping love in my mailbox today- my Simon Says Stamp card kit and my OWH fundraiser packet!  Truly like Christmas in July, and it's all for ME lol!

Tomorrow I'll do some with the OWH stuff, but today is all Simon.  I was a little skeptical that I'd find a way to use the stuff when I saw the kit reveal, but boy did I get over that in a hurry when I opened the box.

Here's a link to all that's in the kit, and here's some of what I did with it.  Yep, these are scraplifted from the inspiration sheet lol.

On this card, I used Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists in Key Lime and Sea Glass, the embellishment is from American Crafts, and the blue cardstock is Bazzill Tropical Breeze.  The green and white cardstock are Recollections, the stencil came in the Simon kit.  This was the first time in years I'd played with my glimmer mists!

This card uses the Simon kit, plus a bit of the Tropical Breeze paper (inside the circle) and a brad from Bella! Bradz.  I wish I'd had another "hello" flair from the kit, but didn't so made do.  I think it turned out ok.

And this card is all Simon kit except the black cardstock (Bazzill) and the bling (Recollections).  I did not know that I could emboss with those little plastic stencils!  I am sooo glad I got that Spellbinders Grand Calibur now! lol

Anyhoo, that's what I did today.  What did you do?

Case This Sketch #38

Here is the challenge sketch and here is my card:

I just got my August 2013 Simon Says Stamp card kit, and this is kind of based on their inspiration card and kind of on the sketch- they were very similar.

Supplies used:

Neenah Solar White cardstock
Bazzill Watermelon Sensation cardstock
Memento inks: Tuxedo black, Rose Bud, Lilac Posies, Dandelion, and Pear Tart
Stamps:  Simon Says Stamp "Card-Exchanging Friends" set

That's it!  Thanks for looking!

Supplies used:

Bazzill cardstock
Papers and chipboard embelli from Webster's pages "Best Friends" 6x6 collection
Sizzix embossing folder

Christmas in July

Yes, I am starting to think about my Christmas cards already.  Part of the reason is I came across some of my Fluffles stamps from Stampendous.  He's such a cute kitty.

Here's the Christmas card I made today:

You can't tell because of the terrible pic, but the white panel is popped up on a red panel.  I really have got to get something set up to take better pics with than my cell phone and a little plate stand lol.  Anyway, I am very happy with how this turned out.

Supplies used:
Stamp- Stampendous
Ink- Memento Tuxedo Black
Colored cardstock- Bazzill
White cardstock- Ultimate Crafter's Companion premium white
Colored with Spectrum Noir markers

Playing with Freebies

So I'm kind of addicted to the UK papercrafting magazines that come with free stuff like papers or stamps and whatnot.  The thing is, using the free stuff kind of takes me out of my comfortable little box a bit a lets me experiment a lil. This is what I've done with some freebies today:

This month's Quick Cards Made Easy came with a 6x6 paper collection and some cardboard toppers.  I'm not usually a fan of those cardboard thingys, but I think these turned out ok.  The collection is Parisian Dreams by Jenny Ellory.

Another magazine had a paper collection and toppers, too, and here's what I did with those:

The "I love you" was stamped with Memento Teal Zeal ink and punched with a Stampin' Up! punch.

Anyhoo, that's it for today's playtime lol.  I made two more cards, scroll down for the posts.

She's fabulous!

Hey guess what?  Only 8 more pageviews till I get to 1000!  lol  Smalltime I know, but still.

Today's first two cards are made with the same Bugaboo digital stamp:

Here she is in hot pink!  I used Bazzill cardstock, Basic Grey paper from the Euphoria collection, some Recollections flowers layered together, and my Spectrum Noir pens.  Easy Peasy!

I couldn't just stop at one- I had some Bazzill cardstock that perfectly matched my Spectrum Noir coloring, so I just had to go for it!  This one also uses Basic Grey paper, from the Recess 6x6 paper pad.

And one card with no coloring in it:

The teardrop gems are from Martha Stewart, the others are Heidi Swapp.  Bazzill cardstock in four shades of pool blue, Memento ink in Teal Zeal.  The stamp is from Club Scrap.  I used two of the dies from the Opulent Ovals set, and one of the Classic Ovals.  That's it!

Baby cards

I make cards for Miss Evelyn, a lady at my church.  She requested some baby cards, and this is what I came up with:

For this card, I used Recollections paper and cardstock, a Paper Studio ribbon, and a stamp set from the Michael's dollar bin, Versamagic ink in Pixie Dust and Gingerbread, and Spellbinders' A2 Fancy Ribbon Threader die.

Next for a little boy:

This used Recollections cardstock and paper, Paper Studio ribbon, and the Spellbinders A2 Fancy Ribbon Threader die, and a digistamp from Eureka Stamps, colored in with my Spectrum Noir markers.   Cute, huh?  I  like this one much better.  So much better I may make another girl card with the digi.

The Friends of Speedy TV challenge is all about monochrome.  Here is my card:

Two Birthday Cards for Sketch Challenges

Over at Mojo Monday they have this sketch challenge that looked interesting to me.  I still have some 6x6 patterned papers left in my Simon Says Stamp kit, so I thought maybe I could work with that.  Here is what I came up with:

I also used the birthday greeting in the Simon Says Stamp set "Cupcake Party", Spellbinders Classic Ovals, and Memento ink in Lady Bug. I think it kind of worked out, don't you?  And lookie- I got three patterned papers into one card! lol

Freshly Made Sketches has this sketch challenge for the week.  Again, I used the patterned paper from the Simon Says Stamp kit, Bazzill cardstock, a cream pearl cardstock, the same birthday greeting (the line of dots is from the same stamp set) and Memento ink in Teal Zeal.  Here it is:

Not too awful bad, I think.  I kind of wish the scrap I had of the patterned paper had been sized so I could turn the pattern the other way, but it's fine how it is.

Thanks for looking, and see you tomorrow!

Three sheets of paper, three cards

So, I've been playing with my Spellbinders again lol.  Today, I went to Michael's to spend that 40% coupon on another Spellbinder set (I got Classic Ovals) and to try picking out supplies to make a card.  I ended up with three sheets of 8.5 x 11 Bazzill cardstock- one each of Lime Crush, Kiwi Crush, and Apple Crush.  LOL, that's a lot of crushed fruit!  I also got a bottle of Ranger Stickles in a bright yellow/green, and some Recollections bling in shades of green.  Once I got home and started playing, this is what I came up with first:

I used my Slice machine and Words and Expressions card to cut the sentiment. The dies are Labels Eight and Decorative Labels 8.  That's it!

Before I put my Slice away, I cut "Birthday" from the same card, then found the Holiday Words and Expressions card to find a cursive "Happy".  Here's what I did with that:

This card also uses A2 Card Creator dies (Filigree Delight) and the Stickles.  I got a little loosey-goosey with the glue around the "b".  I hope it dries invisible, but I'm afraid it won't.  Because of the Stickles, this one won't go in the OWH box anyway.

The last card is:

The dies on this are A2 Card Creator (Floral Ribbon Threader) and one from A2 Matting Basics A.  The sentiment is from the Simon Says Stamp "Cupcake Party" set, the ink is Memento Cottage Ivy.  I added one tiny rhinestone and called it done.

That's all I've done for the day, so I have to get started on my homework now.  Thanks for looking!

More Spellbinders cards

I guess you can tell my Spellbinders collection has been growing rather quickly :)

I made two cards today that will go in my OWH box:

This card uses the A2 Card Creator Filigree Delight, designed by Becca Feeken. My base paper is an old pink and red tulips paper from K&Co I've had for years and finally decided to use it.  I also used Bazzill cardstock and a velvet paper that I don't know who made but I think I got it at Michael's around the same time I got the K&Co paper.  We're talking like a decade now.  Wow.  The stamp is Hero Arts, and the ink is Memento rhubarb something or other.  Oh, and I cut the white oval with my Cricut mini at 1.4" x 1.9" for a perfect fit.  You can find the oval in the Craft Room Basics cartridge under Geometric Shapes.

This card uses the A2 Card Creator set Matting Basics A and Floral Ribbon Threader.  I didn't use my ribbon, though. Just Bazzill cardstock, a Hero Arts stamp, and Memento ink in Cantloupe.

More cards

So, I've had a productive day today. Here are the other cards I made that didn't go to challenges:

This one was made from paper, card stock, and letter stickers from the Simon Says Stamp July 2013 kit and a Martha Stewart border punch.

Then I got on a Spellbinders kick:

This one used 5x7 Card Creator Detailed Scallops, the label die from Parisian Accents, Bazzill cardstock, and my unknown stamp.

This card used Parisian Motifs and Parisian Accents, Bazzill cardstock, Recollections bling and my unknown stamp.  I followed a tutorial I found here.

These two were made with the Parisian Accents and Parisian Motifs dies and Bazzill cardstock and stamps from Cindy Echtinaw Designs.  The first card includes two stamps from the Label Accents set and the second card uses two stamps from the Floral Blessings set.  I used Memento ink in Elderberry on both.

It's been a long day and it's time for me to get to bed.  Thanks for looking, and have a great night.
