Happy Birthday Gorgeous

Wow, time really got away from me, didn't it.  I've been making a few cards, but had to make and give them in short order so I didn't get pictures of them.  Doh!  Even more reason to have a great stash of cards ready to go!

So here's a card I've made for mom's birthday (it's in July, so I'm ahead of the game!!).  I CASEd heavily from this card which I thought was just beautiful.  I changed up the sentiment and added some stamping on the inside:

So what do you think"  I especially love the color combination of Daffodil Delight, Peekaboo Peach, Flirty Flamingo, and Melon Mambo.  And who knew that SU! inks would blend so nicely?  I thought you had to have distress inks for that- myth busted!

More Heartfelt Creations creations lol

So I've spent a few dollars online with Heartfelt Creations, and I have to say, it was money well spent.  I'm feeling all kinds of mojo flowing again.  Their style it quite a ways outside my usual style, and I think that all that stretching is good for me!

To start things off, I got their Flowering Dogwood card kit, just for some ideas and to see how I'd like the designs.  Well, of course I loved them!  Here are the card kit cards, created just as the instructions said:

Pretty huh?  And not nearly so difficult as I imagined they would be.  Now these cards did take a bit more time than my usual, but I really enjoyed it.

Now my first foray into the Flowering Dogwood Collection on my own:

Not too bad for a girl missing her mojo, huh.  I think this card will go to my pastor.

Froggy Went A-Courtin

I am sooo in love with these cute little frogs in Heartfelt Creations' Winking Frog collection!  They just make me smile.

So here is my latest card, which will be going to a dear friend for Valentine's day:

The flowers around the top right corner are because I was silly and forgot to leave room for the foam adhesive when I die cut the oval, so they cover the excess adhesive.  But I think they make a very nice addition.  The water lilies in the bottom left are actually the same flowers, just shaped and layered.  What do you think?

Heartfelt Creations Haul

So a few months back, I went to a rubber stamp show and picked up a couple of Heartfelt Creations' Winking Frog stamps and the matching die.  Well they are so stinkin cute, I went and ordered the rest of the collection Sunday evening online.  Do you know it was here for me to play with already tonight?!? That's what I call customer service!  Fast, fast, fast.  And I have to tell you these are beautiful designs, and top quality red rubber stamps on cling mount.  The dies cut like butter too!  So anyhoo, this is my first Heartfelt Creations card with all my new toys:

This is my very first try at flower shaping, too.  The above 6x6 card was made with one sheet of double-sided paper, plus some SU! Whisper White and Blushing Bride for the flowers.  I kind of wish I hadn't covered so much of my sentiment, but you get the idea.  So there you go.

Fourteen Valentines, card 7

Halfway there!  This card is a little mix of Stampin' Up! card stock and DSP with a Hot Off the Press die.

Here's the card:

The heart and the background are cut from the same DSP- it gradates from bottom to top in intensity, leaving a beautiful soft bokeh effect at the top.

Fourteen Valentines, card 5

Here is my card:

I was going for something that could be given to a man and was not too mushy, but still had a valentine-y feel.  I think I hit the mark, what do you think?

I kind of like how the scallop design in the paper mimics the scallops on the circles.  It makes my OCD happy.
